The difference between other fields
Architectural rendering requires a different type
of artist than the stock standard "out-of-university" artist.
Today artists are taught many advanced techniques, many of which
you would see in today's 3D movies such as the spectacular Pixar
productions that you may see. Techniques such as character animation
are paramount to get the 3D rendered characters to work.
But the architectural 3D artist has different concerns,
and probably has little or no knowledge of character animation and
other blockbuster techniques. The 3D architectural artist has to
contend with:
- A higher expectation in image quality
- A significantly smaller budget
- A much shorter timeframe
- Less resources
